A Stock exchange or market is an organization where buyers and sellers club together to carry out transactions. And, equity shares, commodities, securities etc., are bought and sold out according to clear-cut rules and regulations. So, here is a list of ten largest stock markets in the world.

1. New York Stock Exchange.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is an American stock exchange. It consists of 2,400 listed companies. It is the world’s largest stock exchange and has a market capitalization of US$ 22.9 trillion.

2. NASDAQ.

NASDAQ is an American stock exchange which was an abbreviation for the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations. It consists of 3,000 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 10 trillion.

3. Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) is a Japanese stock exchange organization. It consists of 3,500 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 5.6 trillion. It is also the Asia’s largest stock exchange.

4. Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) is a Chinese stock exchange organization. It consists of 1,600 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 5 trillion.

5. Honk Kong Stock Exchange.

The  Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK), also called as stock exchange of Hong Kong. It consists of 2,300 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 3.9 trillion.

6. London Stock Exchange.

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is based in London and is the oldest stock exchange in the world. It has more than 3,000 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of $4.6 trillion.

7. EURONEXT.

EURONEXT is an European stock exchange which was an abbreviation for the European New Exchange Technology. It consists of 1,500 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 4.5 trillion.

8. Shenzen Stock Exchange.

The Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) is a Chinese stock exchange organization. The Shenzen stock exchange has more than 1,400 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of $3.5 trillion.

9. Toronto Stock Exchange.

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) is a Canadian stock exchange organization. The Toronto stock exchange has more than 2,000 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of $3.2 trillion.

10. Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Bombay Stock Exchange  (BSE) is an Indian stock exchange and is also the Asia’s first ever stock exchange. It consists of 5,000 listed companies and has a market capitalization of US$ 2.2 trillion.
